Getting paid in Bitcoin vs USDT. What would you choose?
Your employer offers you to get a part of you salary in either BTC or USDT. The payment will be made twice a month in equal shares. Your salary stays fixed in US dollars (so you don't just get a share of your salary tied to BTC) and the Bitcoin conversion rate will be calculated at the moment of payout (using the rate from, say, Binance). What would you choose? Getting paid in USDT or straight away in Bitcoin?
Anyone have any experience taking their income in Bitcoin? I've done a bit of research on potentially using BitWage but would be curious to hear from anyone that's done this. Are there other, better services out there to look into? Any generally pros/cons to consider (besides the obvious ones like volatility in price)?
I joked with my employer I'd prefer switching my paychecks from dollars to bitcoins. The accounting department is asking me for help understanding exactly how to go about that!?! We hold them instead of spend them because we've been buying them instead of earning them. Critics say Bitcoin will fail if we never start treating it like currency and exchange them for products/services. If we all just hold, hoping for capital gains, then it won't be the change hoped for. We'll all keep losing purchasing power paying bills with the depreciating Dollar. Since my employer is taking me seriously, I've spoken with my landlord about accepting rent in Bitcoin too, and he's considering it. Bitcoin may become my cash flow reality. I just had to ask both my debtors and creditors to accommodate me. You should go ask too.
I don't know much about crypto currency, but I'm earning money from overseas (completely legal). Direct to Paypal isn't an option and if I opt for a direct bank transfer or a cheque it'll incur a lot of fees so I'll lose a lot. I've been considering using bitcoin as an inbetween. Is this a viable idea? If so can anyone reccomend a wallet, and somewhere trustworthy I can trade the bitcoins for actual dollars into my PayPal or bank? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I honestly don't know much
